Number Section Competency
4.1 Identify vertical angles and linear pairs. Know the relationship between their measures.
4.2 Identify alternate exterior, alternate interior and corresponding angles. Know the relationships between their measures if the transversal cuts across two parallel lines.
4.2 Determine if two lines are parallel given measures of corresponding angles, alternate interior or alternate exterior angles.
4.3 Know how to find the slope given two points.
4.3 Know how to find the midpoint of a segment. Be able to find the coordinates of an endpoint of a segment given the midpoint and the other point.
4.4 Determine whether two lines are parallel, perpendicular or neither based on their slopes.
4.4 Determine if three points are collinear.
4.4 Determine if shapes are on a graph are parallelograms, trapezoids, rectangles or general quadrilaterals based on the relationships among the slopes of their sides.
4.5 Be able to graph linear equations in slope-intercept form.
4.5 Be able to write the equation of a line given two points on the line or a point on the line and its slope. This includes finding equations for medians and altitudes on triangles, and perpendicular bisectors of segments.
4.6 Find the intersection of two lines.
4.7 Be able to determine probabilities based on geometric figures.
