In the transition to the Six Period Day, students will not be placed in a position where they must recover courses and/or credits that are now required of younger graduating classes. New courses are only required of students during their current year or future high school years. In transitioning to the Six Period Day, students will be able to meet their credit number through three different categories of classes.

The class of 2010 at Dayton High School must have a total of 22 credits to graduate.

 

*To be eligible to go to WSU you must take*

4 years of English

3 years of College preparatory math (algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2 as minimums)

3 years of social science

2 years of science (1 of must be a lab science)

2 years of the same foreign language, Native American language, or American Sign Language

1 year of fine/visual/performing arts, or an additional year of one of the above core areas

 

*To be eligible to go to EWU you must take*

English: 4 credits

Math: 3 credits (must be Algebra I, II, and Geometry or the Integrated I, II, and III series)

Social Science: 3 credits

Science: 2 credits (1 year must be a lab science)

Foreign language: 2 credits in the same language

Fine Arts: 1 year or an extra year in one of the above areas
