Prompt Reflections
Culture: The atmosphere of the organization I work at is very relaxed and free, though when I arrive at my job site, I am mobbed, not by adoring fans, but by big black dogs. It feels like home (probably because it is where I live). Most of the time I am able to choose what I work on, because half the time my mentor is out, but I enjoy the work that I do.
Skills Observed: The skills I obverve and am trying to pick up at my workplace are the ability to be creative, on camera and while creating interview questions, to slow down, because not everything is a race, to double check, and ask questions if need be, and check supplies and gear before heading out. I found it takes a certain amount of skill to engage and draw in an interviewee, which is very important in order to captivate an audience. Technology skills are extremly important, because technology changes from instant to instant so to stay on top of things, knowledge is important. Interpersonal skills are of most importance, not only, because things need to run smoothly to come up with a good end product, but in order to be able to film in certain places and to do certain projects one can't be rude and disrespectful.
