Prompt Reflection#1-What is the climate or atmosphere of your organization? What does it feel like to be there? Are people happy to be working at your site? Are you happy?

The climate in the physical therapy department is pretty lax. There is not a whole lot that goes on in physical therapy. A lot of the same people come in every day, so I do not get to meet a new patient or see a new problem every day. There are not that many people that come in except for on Fridays. When I am there sometimes I just hang out and watch Chuck deal with patients. I do not do a lot of hands on stuff, so I just watch and learn a lot of the time. People where I intern are almost always in a great mood. They usually seem pretty happy to be there. I am pretty happy to be there. I learn a lot even though sometime it does not seem like it.

Prompt Reflection#2-What employee skills have you observed? How did people acquire these skills? How important is training to the job? What abilities seem to be demonstrated?

When I observed my Mentor I found that he demonstrated skills such as knowing the proper exercises for certain injuries. He also can not ponder on it too long either, he has to be able to think on the spot. There were other skills that I observed such as being able to talk and get along with everyone that came in. These skills are important because if he did not have these skills then he would probably be out of a job. It seems to be very important to have the proper training for the job. Training gets you familiar with all of the things necessary to get through a normal day. It also exposes you to other problems that might arise.
