Journal Entry #1: Friday, January 26, 2007 Today is our fourth day in internship class and I am pretty excited about the outcome of the class. I think this will help me develop knowledge as to were I would like to work after I graduate from high school and college. I am also remembering all of the fun stuff that I did as a freshman. I enjoy doing working on web pages and doing out of the normal work. Today I had an interview to see were I might possibly go to intern at. However we still do not have an exact spot for me yet. I am hoping that I am put in physical therapy. Journal Entry #2: Tuesday, February 8, 2007 I have been to my internship about four times, and I am having a really good time. I really enjoy the type of learning that is involved at physical therapy. I have learned the four major ligaments of the knee. I have also learned some of the ways that you rehabilitate ligaments and build up certain muscles. I learn some of the problems that the different patients are facing and I learn how they are corrected. I think that I am now going to be thinking of physical therapy as a future career for me. I am going to be working on an ACL project with Chuck. This will help me understand why the ACL is torn more with females than with males. This will also give me a better knowledge of how the knee actually works. This is also good for me because it gives me a better understanding on how the body works. Journal Entry #3: Thursday, February 22, 2007 We have now been in Internship class for a month. The best thing about my Internship so far is all that I am learning. I am learning a lot from my internship. There are many things in physical therapy that man y people do not realize. In fact there are many things about people’s own body that they do not realize. I like learning the anatomy of the human body. The other day chuck and I worked on taping ankles. For my project in there I will be working on the proper technique of taping ankles. This was fun because I was able to learn something that I will need to know later on in my career. Even though I stink at taping ankles know, I feel I will get better as I keep on doing it. Journal Entery #4: Friday, March 16, 2007 I very much enjoyed the talk I had with Ms. Renee Dunham at our first Power Donut Break. What I was able to get from Ms. Renee Dunham was the type of education that is needed to reach a certain level in the medical field. She talked about the different type of schooling that is needed. She also told us that she interned at the hospital herself when she was in college. She interned at Sacred Heart in Spokane Washington . The talk was beneficial because we were able to learn of a whole bunch of different options in the medical field that all of us could be interested in (at least those of us talking with her). |
