Welcome to Kindergarten!
I look forward to working with you and your children this year!
As stated at open house we will begin full day kindergarten on Tuesday September 2. If you signed up on the list or spoke to me I will plan for your child to be here all day. Please set up a lunch account with the office if you plan to have your child eat hot lunch a purchase milk. You are welcome to send a cold lunch if you wish.
Some expectations for the upcoming year: 1) please ensure your child has plenty of rest the night before school 2) arrival and pick up should be on time at the back door of the kindergarten room 3) Show and Tell is VERY important to children—please help your child remember something on their day! 4) Reading to your child daily will create a love for reading as well as a time to bond-READ, READ, READ! 5) Communication is key between parents and teachers. If you have questions or concerns please call me at school or at home.
Classroom expectations from your children: 1) they will come to school ready to learn 2) they will not interfere with the learning of themselves or others 3) they will not interfere with my ability to teach all students.
My discipline plan will be 1) a verbal prompt if they need redirected 2) 5 minutes with head down if needing another reminder 3) loss of recess time and a call home to parents if they are interfering with the learning climate of the classroom.
